Retiring to a New Way of Working

by | Traveling

As 2014 comes to a close, the last of the baby boomer generation will turn 50 and conventional wisdom suggests that retirement is near. What is surprising though is that only 1 in 5 baby boomers plan to retire at age 65 and that people over the age of 50 are starting businesses at twice the rate of people in the 20s. Homestead Senior Care in the USA has 30% of their 65K caregivers being seniors and 40% of their franchise owners are over 50. Although retirement seems like a pleasurable idea, this generation is looking for purpose and engagement in later life and helping those in need seems to be an incredibly powerful concept.
