A recent study showed that young people are willing to take a 25% pay cut in order to have flexibility in their work life. So what is the point of the city of San Francisco trying to implement “scheduled predictability” for flexible hour workers when that variability is exactly what is wanted? The digital natives which comprise the Millennial generation crave this way of working and realize that with mobile technology they can not only get work flexibility they can get self service (vs being serviced) and access to things (vs owning things).
