Build it and they will come…

Being stuck in traffic congestion can test the patience of anyone. Qualcomm’s patience was recently snapped when it decided to contribute to a $100M project to upgrade roads at its gridlocked campus. For all its good intentions, this project may have the opposite effect of “induced travel” where more roads can induce people to travel more and not decrease traffic.

This effect is famously known as “Parkinsons Law” described as “If you wait until the last minute to do something,it will only take a minute to do”. Things tend to occupy and fill the space available for it and roads are no exception.
